Finding Stillness in a Busy World

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Still Waters was first imagined during a season of serving at a summer camp. In the middle of busy schedules, loud laughter, packed days, and endless activities, there was something powerful about watching students slow down. There was a unique kind of peace that came from being surrounded by a community of believers, a place where conversations centered around faith, worship, and growing closer to Christ.

There is something special about the “bubble” of a camp or retreat. It is easy to feel connected to God when distractions are limited, when everyone around you is seeking the same thing, and when life feels slower. But what happens when you leave? What happens when you return to school, friendships, sports, responsibilities, social media, and the everyday pressures of being a teenager?

Still Waters was created with that question in mind.

We want to help young women discover how to carry that stillness with them, not just for a weekend retreat or at camp, but into everyday life.

While Still Waters is still being built behind the scenes, dreams being brainstormed, logistics being planned, legalities being completed, and countless details being prepared, we wanted to launch our website as a glimpse of what is to come. This is the beginning of a journey.

From local retreats to future international experiences, including opportunities to travel and grow together, Still Waters will be a place where young women can learn what it means to slow down, listen, and focus on Christ.

Because being still is not about doing nothing.

Being still is about knowing who God is.

It is learning to be still and trust His plan when life feels uncertain. It is learning to be still and find peace when everything around you feels overwhelming. It is learning to lie beside the still waters and recognize that God provides rest, guidance, and renewal.

Still Waters is about creating young women who are disciples, not just inside the walls of a retreat, but in their everyday lives. We want to equip girls with the confidence and faith to know how to respond when life gets messy, when decisions are difficult, and when the world feels louder than ever.

Because being a teenage girl can feel chaotic.

It is the pressure of the boy you cannot seem to impress. It is watching friends make memories and feeling FOMO. It is navigating the challenge of living differently when your choices do not always look like everyone else’s. It is figuring out who you are while the world constantly tells you who you should be.

But following Christ was never meant to be boring.

God does not call us to live a sheltered life hidden away from the world. He calls us to live differently within it. He calls us to love boldly, serve faithfully, build meaningful relationships, and walk confidently in the purpose He has created for us.

Building a Christ-centered community takes strength and patience. It takes trusting that God will bring the right people into your life, the friends who encourage you, the community that makes you feel seen, and the relationships that point you closer to Him.

It takes patience in waiting for the right person, the one who shows kindness and thoughtfulness. It takes discipline to work hard and pursue your goals. It takes faith when you do not know exactly what God’s plan looks like yet.

Still Waters is about learning how to navigate all of it.

It is about finding joy while following Christ. It is about building friendships that last. It is about discovering your purpose. It is about practicing stillness so that when life becomes overwhelming, you know where to turn.

The goal is not to create a place where life feels perfect.

The goal is to create a place where young women learn how to walk through an imperfect world with a steady faith.

A place where they learn to be still. A place where they learn to know God. A place where they learn to live a life rooted in Christ, inside the bubble and beyond it.
